Good Morning and Happy Halloween to everyone! I am sitting here with a heavy heart after seeing the devastation all over the east coast. Especially to NJ. My heart goes out to all the people. The photo of a deer standing alone on a Monmouth County beach with the angry waves crashing behind him says it all. Where do I go from here? He looks so lost. The air is flooded with memories as people like me from NJ and surrounding areas remember the good times down the shore. Our hearts breaking when we see our beautiful Ferris wheel now tilted in the ocean, our roller coaster a twisted shell of wood and metal as the waves drag the cars out to sea. We stop and remember the screams of delight, our smiling faces and remember laughing at and with each other. It is the screams and laughter we remember of the good times, of prom nights and our kids first carousel ride as we stand in the silence of despair as the waves continue to roll onto the beaches. We stand in silent witness to natures fury. The sounds and smell of the sun and surf have different meaning to us these past few days, but we are strong and we will rebuild. Rebuild new memories for generations to come. The Jersey Shore will rise to the challenge Lucy has thrown our way.

Well as you all can tell it has taken me some time to get back into the creative swing of things since injuring my thumb. Sounds mundane but amazing what you can't do with an injury like that. I had to use my left hand to zip up zippers, button buttons, forget about using the can opener or chopping vegetables. Anyhoooo, here is one of my finished pieces I started 4 months ago.
What a nice surprise to be featured on Megan's Blog. Thanks so much! http://megansbeadeddesigns.wordpress.com/2012/10/26/meet-marge-wickliffe-from-softmyst-sculpture/#comment-2825
